NBA on DraftKings 3/28/16

For my writeup today I’m going to give my favorite options for the positions, then also give you some alternative options.  My “favorite plays” are the guys I’m all in on and am putting my money on for a big game.

PG

My favorite plays:

Chris Paul, $9,500- He put up 70+ fantasy points in his last game versus the Celtics, and now we see CP3 face them once again in a matchup you usually want to avoid due to the Celtics amazing front court defense.  Will that scare people off of him?  Probably not considering his last performance against them, but still, it’s hard to fade him here in a game that should remain close.

Darren Collison, $5,000- Rondo, Cousins and Gay have all been ruled out, so Collison will get the start, and somebody’s has to shoot the ball for the Kings.  Collison should get a high usage rate with plenty of minutes.  He will be highly owned.

Seth Curry, $3,100- Somebody needs to shoot for the Kings, and Curry is expected to start once again, but this time I like his chances to get 30+ minutes.  If he can get his shot to fall early, watch for a huge game at near minimum salary.

Alternative options:

Russell Westbrook, $10,400

Damian Lillard, $9,500

Isaiah Thomas, $7,900

Ricky Rubio, $6,900

Tim Frazier, $4,100

Jordan Farmar, $3,700

SG

My favorite plays:

Dwyane Wade, $6,500- Dragic is out, thus leaving D-Wade a chance to get even more usage in the offense.  He’s averaging 43 fantasy points in 3 games versus Brooklyn, so I expect this to be a great day to use Wade.

Evan Turner, $5,900- 30 fantasy points in 30 minutes off of the bench against the Clippers in their last game, Turner should get the start with Crowder still out, and with him seeing around 35 minutes per game as of late, expect similar, if not better, numbers this time around.

Raymond Felton, $4,300- Deron Williams will sit once again, leaving the backcourt production up for grabs in Dallas.  Felton has seen 35 and 38 minutes in the last two games, putting up 30+ fantasy points in each.  Denver is a great matchup to target here as well.  Can’g go wrong with Felton tonight.

Josh Richardson, $4,200- He is starting at PG tonight, although I don’t expect his minutes to jump too much necessarily.  What this does, however, is open up his potential usage rate, and with a guy this lowly priced that’s been productive with his time as of late, this can only mean a potential breakout game for Richardson.

Alternative options:

DeMar DeRozan, $7,800

C.J. McCollum, $7,200

Zach LaVine, $5,800

Will Barton, $5,100

Norman Powell, $3,200

SF

My favorite plays:

Kevin Durant, $10,000- It would be wise to have Durant or Westbrook in your lineups any night the Thunder are playing.  I like Durant’s matchup better tonight.  Do I need to explain why he, or even Westbrook, are great options?  The answer is no.

Carmelo Anthony, $8,300- 52 fantasy points versus the Pelicans last time out, and with a team that struggles to defend a bigger guy on the wing (usually you see it be a PF, but Melo tends to play that type of role on offense), this is a prime spot for him.  Luckily the Knicks are terrible, so this game should remain close enough for Melo to see his minutes stay up.

Joe Johnson, $4,900- Revenge game.  I love targeting them, and here is Johnson’s first crack at it.  Struggling to produce recently after a hot start in Miami, this is a wonder GPP option.

Omri Casspi, $4,200- Casspi should get the start, and he is a guy with not too much upside (22-25 fantasy points with his 25-30 minutes recently), but I expect the minutes to jump and his shots to increase.  Casspi is a guy that can shoot the 3, so if he can get hot, this play will pay off.

Maurice Harkless, $3,500- He has started the last 3 games, putting up 26, 23, and 31.5 fantasy points in those games.  How is he still this cheap?

Alternative options:

Loul Deng, $5,800

Kent Bazemore, $4,200

Jordan Hamilton, $3,500

Alonzo Gee, $3,300

PF

My favorite plays:

Paul Millsap, $7,900- The man is on fire the last 3 games, and he could ave crept into 70+ fantasy points his last time out if he didn’t suffer a cut around his eye which ended his night prematurely.  He’s playing tonight, and averaging 41 fantasy points in 3 games versus the Bulls this year.

LaMarcus Aldridge, $7,300- He’s coming into his own as a Spur, and with Duncan ruled out, Aldridge will be the go-to guy in heavy doses tonight.  Averaging 44 fantasy points in 2 games versus the Grizzlies, and if you didn’t know this already, Memphis is a tad beat up currently.

Ed Davis, $4,200- Minutes are limited, but why?  There is probably a logical reason as to why, but I don’t follow the Portland Trailblazers all too closely.  30+ fantasy points in 3 straight games, and will need to play decent minutes with Koufos and Cauley-Stein starting for Sacramento.

Alternative options:

Kristaps Porzingis, $6,100

Gorgui Dieng, $6,000

C

My favorite plays:

Hassan Whiteside, $8,400- He plays better without Bosh healthy.  Dragic has a tendency to play better when Whiteside isn’t playing with him.  Bosh and Dragic are both out.  Brook Lopez is in town.  Whiteside’s gonna eat.

DeAndre Jordan, $7,900- 51 fantasy points versus Boston in their last game, and the Celtics tend to struggle versus big men.  So yeah, while Griffin remains out, Jordan is the man to target here.

Robin Lopez, $5,400- I’m not too worried about his last two games because Lopez has shown that he can be a consistent center for rebounding and scoring.  What you worry about is if he will get the opportunities to shoot.  At this price, it’s risky, but I’ll give it a shot tonight.

Willie Cauley-Stein, $3,700- Everyone is out for the Kings, and Cauley-Stein has looked impressive the last few games, putting up 42 and 31.75 fantasy points in just under 30 minutes.  He’s worth a look here.

Kosta Koufos, $3,500- Want to fade Cauley-Stein in the same game?  Here you go.

Alternative options:

Al Horford, $6,800

Rudy Gobert, $5,600

Jonas Valanciunas, $5,200

Mason Plumlee, $5,100

Steven Adams, $3,700

Chris Anderson, $3,200
